A devastating one story wood and stucco blaze at 40900 Fremont Boulevard gutted Apollo Furniture Co in the Braga Shopping Center. Damage is estimated at 75 000. No one was inside the showroom. Four engine companies and a snorkel truck fought the flames through the night. One firefighter suffered a nail injury to the foot. Fire officials say the fire originated in the front showroom. A second alarm was called and authorities remained on site into the morning.
