Crazed Man Murders Boy Wounds Mother in Montana
An elderly man named George Stupor, aged about 70, shot and killed a 10-year-old boy and seriously wounded the boy’s mother, Mrs. Douglas Petersen, after neighbors reported he feared poisoning and theft. CV Man Faces Death Charges in Castro Valley Crash
Richard H. Van Buren, 24, of Castro Valley, faces felony manslaughter charges in the death of 16 year old Carol Anne Scranton after a collision with Hanley Hanley’s sedan on the Castro Valley Blvd underpass of Highway 50. Scranton died the next day. Hanley remained hospitalized in fair condition with head injuries. Van Buren’s pickup struck the rear of Hanley’s sedan, sending it into a concrete pillar. Van Buren was not injured.
