Fremont Man Held As Slaying Suspect

Fremont man James L. Stevenson, 38667 Banyan Tree Road, is held in connection with the November slaying of Newark tavern owner Vincent Sulezich. Otis R. Coleman, 27, Mayhews Landing Road, Newark, was arrested in Lynchburg after police recognized him from a warrant. Coleman’s extradition fight is planned. Aid To Low Wealth Schools Proposed

Sacramento reports a bill by Assemblyman Sam van Carlos Bee to extend 35 million in state aid to low wealth school districts, including Alameda County districts Hayward Newark San Lorenzo Castro Valley Pleasanton and Livermore. Smallest Harris quint dies in Brooklyn hospital

New York AP reports tiny Talia Harris, the smallest of four surviving Harris quintuplets, died at 4:43 am in the Jewish Hospital of Brooklyn following pneumonia complications. A spokesman said she died about 24 hours after taking a turn for the worse.
