President elect Jimmy Carter told reporters at St Simons Island that a tax cut is a likely prospect in an economic package to be released in outline form by the end of next week. He prioritizes a work opportunity program to lower unemployment and said stimulus would adjust to economic conditions.
Eden Hospital considers an eight dollar daily rise for medical surgical pediatrics and psychiatric beds plus smaller increases for private semi private and intensive care rooms. Current rates and new charges would reflect about six percent overall, excluding maternity and nursery wards. The increases aim to cover higher expenses including nursing salaries and the hospital budget. director Felice Tanenbaum joins Eden next month and may discuss the plan.
