Hayward Newcomers Club members hosted a Christmas party with about 70 attendees at the old Meek Estate home. The catered dinner and champagne reception preceded prize awards from evening games. Mrs Sanford Driskill chaired the event with holiday decorations arranged by Mrs John Pfiefer’s committee.

Bridesmaids wore purple velvet. best man was Chris Cline. ushers included Michael Van Landingham Ken Short and Charles Cardil. A nephew carried the rings after a reception at Hill and Valley Club House, Hayward.
Barbara Wallis and Stephen Ryken wed at Eden United Church of Christ with Barbara’s Wallis family and the Ryken relatives in attendance. The bride wore an apricot chiffon gown with a demi-veil. maid of honor Susan and flower girl Mary Louise wore yellow and apricot, while best man was David Ryken. The couple leaves for a Southern California honeymoon and will reside in Casten Valley.
