Two Children Survive Ark. Family Slaying and Fire
In Trumann Arkansas two children survived a deadly torching that killed six family members. Police detained Frank Harris, 56, a handyman from near Jonesboro, for questioning. The Dever family was found dead at their farm home seven miles north of Trumann after a man shot Leonard and Mrs. Dever and their children before setting the house ablaze. The youngsters Ronald and Mary Dever described fleeing the burning home barefoot to a neighbor. The injuries to the two children were treated as they recounted the attack and identified Harris as the alleged assailant.
