Three Rivers Meet in Pennsylvania Song Hits Pittsburgh
Hoagy Carmichael and lyricist Francis Webster discuss the Pennsylvanian three rivers motif in a new song. They explain the rivers Allegheny Monongahela and Susquehanna meet in Pittsburgh's area, using poetic license. Carmichael notes the line is thematic and not geographic fact, while locals debate the song's accuracy.
