Morabe Registry Aims to Chronicle Purebred Morabs

In Hayward California a suburban couple David and Andrea Juricic launch what may be the nation’s first Morab horse registry. The Hearst Memorial Morab Horse Registry seeks 150 Alameda County registrations in a year, using permission to use the Hearst name though not run by the Hearst family. The Morab breed blends Morgan and Arabian lines, developed at Hearst’s San Simeon Ranch in 1919. The Juricsics, on the registry's board, plan a broad mailing campaign as the project gains incorporation papers. Mrs Jurick, long denied pets in earlier apartments, now pursues a lifelong horse passion with this venture.
