Sea Hunt producers lose suit over plagiarism claims
A Los Angeles jury awards $250,000 in damages to World War II frogman Frank Donahue and two producers who said their underwater idea, "Under water Legion," inspired the TV series "Sea Hunt." They claimed a formal 1955 script submission preceded the show's creation by ZIV Television Programs, Ivan Tors, and Standard of Co. The defense argued the concept was not original, citing the 1950s film "Underwater" and existing "Sea Hunt" episodes.
