In Lombard Illinois a 14 year old boy with an urge to commit murder stabbed Arthur Capitanelli to death in his bedroom. The assailant Clyde Walker fought to escape and was found beneath the victim in a pool of blood. He had accompanied Connie Capitanelli to a party earlier and returned home before the killing.
Georgiana Dohner 59 widow of Milton I. Dohner was found dead at her Castro Valley home from a gunshot with a note reading I can't endure the grief agony and loneliness. Deputies say she first attempted death by natural gas and then used a revolver after removing a gas stove top. The case is treated as a self inflicted death. A private funeral will be held. she is sister to Mae Sullivan and Frances Kitshell and Albert and Samuel Brady.
An armed man aimed to rob Jacob W. Klassen in his garage. Klassen, facing away, turned and drew two pistols, forcing the assailant to surrender. Police jailed 18 year old William Alvin Glant of Phoenix for investigation.
