Board Denies Two Petitions In Alameda County
The Alameda County Board of Supervisors denied Cecil Calam’s rezoning request for 3700 Castro Valley Blvd from residential to commercial. It upheld an appeal against Richard Pool’s plan to build a home at 4776 Proclar Road. The board approved rezoning for Usher Street parcel in San Lorenzo to retail and upheld a decision blocking a 60 day produce sale near Somerset Ave and Lake Chabot. Attorney John Thorpe argued unions failed to meet conditional use requirements and urged review of temporary county stands selling second quality produce.

SAN LEANDRO The planning commission voted unanimously to recommend city council approval of revised Halcyon Drive right of way lines from Western Pacific tracks to East Ninth Street. The panel also denied a rezoning request for 788 Lawalling Blvd to allow a multifamily unit development, citing excessive limits on the parcel’s single family zoning.
