A sports night is planned at Parks Air Force Base on Thursday to honor Major General Eugene L. Eubank. Marro Postponed Hearing In Centerville Case

Michael Marro, 26, of Hayward, appeared before Judge Allen G. Norris in Washington Township Justice Court yesterday. The postponement to Friday was granted so the defendant can secure counsel as he stands trial for issuing about $600 in bad checks.

Jose M Hernandez Dies After Illness In Hayward

Jose Manuel Hernandez 87 a retired cannery worker died at his home 1085 Ramos Avenue after a brief illness. Native of Spain he is survived by his widow four sons Raymond L Frank and Chris Hernandez all of Hayward Julian Hernandez of San Leandro three daughters Fremina Madrid Florence Hernandez and Rose Gonsalves nine grandchildren and brothers Chris Hernandez of Hayward Philip Hernandez of Sunnyvale sisters Ramon d Hernandez and Lorenza Bueno Hayward. He was a member of Union Funeraria de Desoto Sociedad de Cervantes and Ebenaerie Eagles No 1139 of Hayward. Funeral rites from Sorensen Brothers chapel at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday will be conducted at All Saints Catholic church with mass at 8:45 Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre cemetery Recitation of the rosary at 8 p.m. tomorrow.

Last rites for Manuel L. Aguiar held at All Saints Church

Funeral services were held this morning for Manuel Louis Aguiar who died Friday at a state hospital. The man’s home was 320 Laurel Avenue and his daughter Teresa Candida de Jesus survives. Services from Garden Chapel of Pratt Wherl mortuary at 8 15 am, mass at All Saints Catholic Church at 9 o’clock.

Former Publisher of Review Passes On

SAN FRANCISCO. John de Limas Melo, 41, former publisher of the Hayward Daily Review, died Friday in San Francisco. Melo published the Review and the Revista Portugesso in 1925. He also worked on the Billings Gazette and the San Francisco Daily News. He belonged to the International Typographical union and the IDES.
