Fire destroys empty club as roof collapses at dawn
Fire Lt Gerald Hathaway shouted to occupants as the roof began to sag in front of the dime. Four firemen Carm Shaw Nick Arhontes Bi Wood and Harry Manning escaped moments before the roof crashed to the floor. Chief Jiminez said the blaze began in the Midget club owned by Chester Caviglia and likely started near the bar before spreading to rear store rooms. Albert, in the Pines club, said he discovered the fire around the same time and smelled smoke then checked his store rooms. Firemen arrived within minutes.
