Flash Floods Hit Western Nevada Roads and Golf Course
Severe thunderstorms swept western Nevada Saturday and Sunday causing flash floods on Third Creek washing out two golf greens at Incline Village near Lake Tahoe. Galena Creek rose across U S 395 south of Reno, closing the road for hours. Flooding also blocked Nevada 11 and Nevada 17 near Silver City. Interstate 80 saw mud slides but traffic moved later. Truckee Canal damage forced redirection toward Pyramid Lake for about 10 days. Rainfall totals neared a quarter inch in Reno. Las Vegas showers forecast for today and tomorrow.
