Rufus sided towhee charm delights beginning birders
The Rufus sided towhee proves easy to identify and widely found in brushpiles hedgerows and woodlands. Males sing a bright musical call on perches as females, brownish with lighter wings, nest low in bushes and lay four whitish eggs with brown spots in late May to incubate for four days. Both parents feed and keep the nest clean, while the male defends territory.
