Principal Howden dead at 49 in Fremont

James Howden longtime Fremont educator and former Irvington and Sundale district official died of a heart attack at age 49. He served as principal and administrator in multiple schools through the Bay Area and held community roles with Scout councils and churches. Survivors include his wife Margaret, two children, and a granddaughter. Services were held today with donations requested to Children’s Hospital or other charities.
