A Fremont resident died yesterday in a San Jose hospital after a long illness. He was born in Alameda and lived in Centerville, Fremont, on Fremont Avenue. He belonged to U2.E.C. Council 6 and the United Ancient Order of Druids Grove of Fremont. He is survived by four brothers and four sisters. Services will be held tomorrow at 1:30 from the chapel with mass at 9 a.m. Burial at Holy Ghost Cemetery in Fremont. Proposals for a pedestrian scramble system in San Leandro drew mixed answers from the public works department.

Firm Delays Theft Charge in Rexall Warehouse Incident
SAN LEANDRO Charges were pending today against a 25 year old warehouseman accused of taking 108 dollars worth of electrical appliances from the Rexall Drug Co warehouse on Merced Ave. Two witnesses identified the man as the person seen filing appliances in the weeds outside. Stephen Wlezewski firm manager said the decision to sign a complaint rests with the Los Angeles office. The accused denied involvement.
