A Piper Cherokee piloted by Fremont insurance agent Frank Blasquez and a Beechcraft Bonanza flown by William Gibbs of San Diego collided at about 1 780 feet over Castro Valley. Both planes made emergency landings at Oakland and Hayward airfields with no injuries.
