San Leandro Budget Trustees Approve Tax Rate Cut
San Leandro Unified School District trustees voted to reduce the operating tax rate by 6.5 cents, cutting the 1973 tax rate to 3.5 dollars per 10 dollars assessed value. Total tax burden drops to 8.707 dollars, with a 676 thousand dollar reserve to cover salary boosts and a cash cushion. Budget changes included waivers for the Children's Center at Thomas Jefferson and a 12,500 dollar allocation for repairs to the Farley Building at Roosevelt School.
