Castro Valley business group status remains at standstill as the Castro Valley Chamber seeks a new manager after the June resignation of Frank Lowney. Office secretary Mrs. R Meg Niles runs chamber duties in vacation months and expects action when vacations end. A quorum of directors is needed to fill the post, with full board preferred. The next board meeting is scheduled for noon on August 8.

Sanitary Directors Elected Across Area Districts
Three South County men were elected to the California Sanitary and Sanitation District board at a San Diego conference. Everett Wright of Castro Valley Sanitary District was named president, Ray Borge of Union Sanitary District as secretary treasurer, and Culver Lewis of Oro Loma Sanitary District to the board. The Oro Loma board also approved shifting from its own system to a new statewide standard accounting system by 1991, with staff instructed to begin implementation.
