Weather Corner: Northern and Content Gulffire Showers and Cool

Regional forecast notes scattered showers across Northern areas and interior regions with continued cool conditions. Western Nevada expects snow or rain Sunday into Monday mainly over mountains with cold highs near 32 to 42. San Francisco Bay area remains partly cloudy with a few showers, cool low 38 to 45 and highs near 52 to 60. Northwest winds 10 to 18 mph, rain chances around 49 percent Sunday into Sunday night. Similar unsettled patterns extend through Sacramento Valley and San Joaquin Valley with showers, cool lows near 32 to 41 and highs 32 to 60, variable winds 10 to 18 mph. Central Coast counties show partly cloudy skies Monday with scattered showers and cooler highs around 42 to 60. Santa Clara Valley and Monterey report partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered showers, cool lows 34 to 45 and highs 55 to 60. Northwestern California mostly cloudy Sunday to Monday with scattered showers, cooler conditions and coastal northwest winds 10 to 22 knots.

Park Plans Voiced For Angel Island

SAN RAFAEL AP Fifty five persons braved rain hail and mud to tour Angel Island and hear assurances the proposed park will keep its quiet character not become a Coney Island. Haward P. Bolder of the Division of Beaches and Parks outlined plans for development including camping swimming and sightseeing while protecting the landscape and restoring historic buildings. The Coast Guard station remains as the only federal installation on the island which spans about 600 acres near the Marin shore of San Francisco Bay.
