Youth robbers flee after knife threat on bus
Two youths aged 13 to 15 robbed a Key System bus cash box after threatening the driver Mrs. Johnnie Gayler 32 of 724489 Caroline drive Hayward. The smaller boy fled with the box when the larger drew a knife but the pair escaped across the bus lot. Gayler chased them toward Ward Creek before police arrived. one boy was later traced to a Castro Valley home by Officer Verne Lippold. The incident coincides with local school trustee recall contests set for May 20 across Eden and Washington townships.

Three Saved From Possible Asphyxiation
Russell City residents were alerted when Jessie Lee Adams reported three family members found semi conscious from suspected gas heater exposure. Deputies found Jessie Lee Rentry, 62, Hile Lee Johnson, 12, and Danny L Adams, 18 months, all in a semi conscious state with a high room temperature. Two other children aged 5 and 10 were unharmed. Resources were summoned and the trio were transported to Fairmont hospital for evaluation.
