Unofficial returns from yesterday's school board and college district elections in South County show winners in bold. Hayward Unified, Castro Valley Unified, Fremont Unified, San Leandro Unified, Newark Unified and New Haven Joint College District vote tallies are listed with seats decided.
Major upsets shook the Castro Valley Unified School District as Rhodes and Duffey ousted incumbents. In Fremont, Weibel and Andrews sailed to re-election while Ednasom fell to Secha in the junior college district. Newark incumbents Aycox and Pericey Jr. won four-year terms, and Livermore and Pleasanton boards saw incumbents returned or unopposed.
