Two Die In Stolen Fremont Plane Crash
Fremont private plane stolen last November was found crashed about two miles north of Fremont. The bodies of Glen Parker, 42, of Santa Cruz, and the pilot William F. Roth, 37, were identified by investigators as deceased. San Jose police linked Roth to the theft of the Cessna 182 from San Jose Municipal Airport on November 1. The coroner would not confirm identities pending next of kin notices. Investigators noted Roth had an estranged wife in Idaho and a history of public drunkenness. The crash site was on a wooded ridge near Highway 152, three miles north, with Parker and Roth believed en route to Oregon after a midafternoon meeting in Watsonville. Police speculated Roth may have intended to run drugs from Mexico.

Union City youth killed in gun mishap in 1950s era event
A Union City youth, 18 year old David Quinata, died on arrival at Valley Memorial Hospital after a .32 caliber pistol discharged during target practice with a 17 year old companion, Frankie Concepcion, who was wounded.
