BARSTOW UP I Bodies of a Strathmore couple reported missing after entering the Mojave Desert to hunt rocks were found Monday in a camper. Deputies said the 58-year-old teacher and 63-year-old husband had been asphyxiated by fumes from a charcoal heater used in their camper near Hinkley along U.S. 466. The couple left Tulare County last Monday planning to return Saturday, and their son EB Hamilton Jr. notified authorities after the mother failed to appear at the Strathmore Sunnyside Elementary School.
A bus carrying 36 people crashed into a ravine near Tarrasa, 28 miles from Barcelona, killing seven passengers and injuring the remainder. The accident occurred on a Monday, with rescue teams attending the scene.
