The writer cites a former grocer's tactics 16 to 18 years past, notes true best sugar costs 8d 3, and claims honest dealers can only gain 2d per loaf.
The Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts holds its anniversary meeting at the Vestry Room of St Mary le Bow Cheapside on Friday the 20th instant February at nine o'clock in the forenoon. A sermon will be preached by Rev Dr Lynch, Dean of Canterbury, with prayers beginning at eleven o'clock.
