Le Mars Council Approves East Main Street Sidewalk Plan
Resolution No 2 directed by City Council of LeMars requires a permanent twelve foot wide sidewalk on the east side of Main Street from Eighth to Ninth Street within thirty days from June 7 1882. It specifies plank material two inches thick twelve feet long set on four by four inch spikes. Mayor A H Lawrenson signed.

LeMars Fire Limits Ordinance No 35 Adopted by City Council
City of LeMars establishes fire limits starting at block forty nine and running through blocks five six thirteen and fourteen in LeMars proper and blocks forty eight and forty nine in the first addition. No building with wood or combustible exteriors may be erected or moved within the limits and any violator faces injunction abatement or removal as a nuisance.
