The Eleventh Iowa district will hold a Democratic convention at LeMars on August 26, 1882 to nominate a candidate for Congress. Delegates are allocated by county, plus one per 200 votes or fraction over 100 for L. G. Kinne in 1881 governor race, with listed county allocations.
The Republicans of Plymouth county hold a delegate convention at the Court House in LeMars on Saturday July 2 1882 at 2 PM to select seven delegates for the Sioux City decisional convention and seven delegates for the Des Moines State convention. Representation is one delegate per township plus delegates for vote tallies in the last election. County central committee chairman A L Dawrence.
