Elderton Cub Scouts planning commit tee members met at the home of cubmaster George Burdge and Mrs Burdge. The pack meeting is set for 7 30 p m Jan 30 in the former school cafeteria with the Family Alert theme and dens 3 4 handling opening closing and refreshments. Boy Scouts Sunday is Feb 9 at Mt Union Lutheran Church and Blue and Gold Banquet is Feb 27 at Elderton Presbyterian Church.

Hetrick of New Bethlehem RD 2 entered two Belgian horses Doc and Tom in lightweight and heavyweight horse pulling at the State Farm show this week. The pair placed second in lightweight with a nine foot pull at 3,000 pounds, while a Hetrick team finished fourth in heavyweight.
