Indiana State College Ranks Sixth in State by Enrollment

Indiana State College is sixth in size by full-time enrollment among Pennsylvania colleges and universities. The state list names 131 institutions with Penn State and Temple among the top five, while Indiana State College reports about 4,319 students. Other large schools include Temple 10,637 and University of Pennsylvania 10,640.

Republicans Set Endorsement Plan For Five State Posts

Harrisburg report says the Republican state committee will endorse candidates for U S senator auditor general treasurer and two Superior Court judges at Hershey on January 28. State Chairman Craig Truax notes 113 members will select 10 at large delegates and potential candidates including speaker W Stuart Helm for auditor general or treasurer. Incumbents Hugh Scott and Robert Woodside expected to seek new terms. Rhodes seat may go to a Superior Court candidate as Rhodes likely won’t seek reelection. An executive subcommittee will review statewide race contenders beforehand.

Car Fire Doused At East Kittanning Hill

A car fire on East Kittanning Hill near the Armstrong County courthouse was doused by firemen after an 11 15 p.m. alarm. The blaze caused about 200 dollars in damage to an old model car as investigators noted frigid conditions in report.

Man Sentenced to Chair In Expectant Mother Death

In Philadelphia a 23 year old George A Mount was sentenced to die in the electric chair for the fatal stabbing of Frances Lieberman an expectant mother, during an attempted robbery in her Plainfield New Jersey apartment. Mount admitted guilt to first degree murder, claiming panic after entering the kitchen. The parolee judges had just announced death verdict before the sentence.

Snow Plow Hits Cars Damage Put at $20
