The Daughters of America and Catholic Women’s clubs held their first 1964 meeting at St Francis de Paul Church Ford City. Rev Edward V Curry urged civic life involvement and announced lectures on future school systems with Monsignor McDowell slated to speak. An orientation for standing committee chairmen was planned and the next DCCW gathering is April 5 at Yatesboro.

Local women of the Moose were invited by the Butler Moose Club to attend its 47th anniversary dance. The meeting opened in ritual, with prayers by Alma Stivason, minutes read by Ruth Julian, and officers roll call. The nine o'clock ceremony and Mooseheart Endowment Fund pledge occurred before a flag salute led by Nora Cravener and Mabel White.

Newcomers Club members held a brief business meeting then enjoyed Bridge Five Hundred and Scrabble at Mrs. Robert Chalfant’s North Water Street home. Winners were Mrs. Charles Ashe for Bridge Mrs. Richard Boggs for Five Hundred and Mrs. Martonik for Scrabble. Twenty attended including guests and former members. An exchange student will speak at the February meeting hosted by Mrs. Frank Gallagher in Ford City. Also advertised a plastic grip mop for easier cleaning.
