Rev F E Clark Day professor of the University of Christian Endeavor arrived in Boston aboard the steamer Cestrian after a worldwide journey to attend national Christian Endeavor conventions in Japan China France Spain and Germany and the London World’s convention with over 50000 attendees. He narrowly escaped Paris during the Boxer disturbances and praised American minister Mr Conger. He traveled home via the trans Siberian railway and the Arane river as one of the first all steam Siberia routes opened May 1.
Absent students remain unfound after rapid search through the town as the Montana Pioneers association reunion approaches in Bozeman on September 11 and 12. Railroads offer reduced rates to boost attendance for the event.
Bath Maine Sept 6 Hon Arthur Sewall died of apoplexy at 830 am today at his summer home Small Point about 12 miles from the city. He was 64 years old and had not been in good health for some time. He had followed his physician’s advice to rest but attended the Democratic National Convention in Kansas City against medical counsel. He appeared well after the journey but suffered a fatal stroke while at Small Point last Sunday ending in unconsciousness and death.
