Chairman Jones of the Democratic National Committee faced sharp questions as millions of ballots were counted. The report provides the current electoral college makeup as of this afternoon, detailing state by state tallies and projected outcomes.
Election returns show Republicans carrying New York state by about 146 000 and Greater New York by roughly 27 500. Odell claimed 100 000 in advance, Bryan projected 80 000 to 90 000. Stanchfield led in the south and Brooklyn, while Odell carried up counties. Bryan remains a national figure per Croker.
St. Louis reports Missouri shifted Democrat with a statewide margin between 20 000 and 40 000 in the election. Governor candidate Alexander M Dockery leads, though likely by a smaller margin than the statewide Democratic ticket. National Democrats also claim strong support across the state.

Be W Carmack expected elected U S senator by about 18 481 plurality amid expected Republican loss of roughly 6 to 21 percent compared with 1896 results. George E Hughes notes a drop from over 48 000 in 1896 to around 25 000 in 1900.
Omaha Nov 7 The Nebraska election result remains unsettled as only about 525 precincts of 1611 have reported. Early counts hint at a close race with final outcomes not yet determined.
Concord New Hampshire November 7 Secretary Maxlgin of the Democratic state committee reports a slim win but pledges further work amid party divisions and local race results casting doubt on stronger gains.
Special to the Inter Mountain from Helena reports a closely divided result in state races. Republicans claim gains may yield a McKinley plurality. Democrats predict a Bryan edge. Fusion forces appear to control the legislature in Douglas and South Omaha districts as tallies trickle in.
The list shows elected members by district with party labels. Democrats Feely Foster McAndrews Mahoney Horester Caldwell and Jett Crowley Selv y are cited alongside Republicans Hopkins Fost Tilt Prince Reeves Cannon Graff Adenburg Smith and others across districts. All districts listed are reported as elected.
Washington reports Representative Loudensinger of New Jersey, secretary of the Republican Congressional Committee, announcing at 10 this forenoon that 204 Republicans are elected with a majority over all of 54. Democrat chairman Richardson appeared at 10 30 and his lieutenants paused. They conceded a safely Republican House but would not estimate the margin.
In Toywhcka Kansas on November 7 United returns put Republicans ahead by about 25,000 for the national ticket and 20,000 for the state. They foresee GOP control nationwide with possible exception of a district.
New York reports indicate McKinley will likely win California by at least 20,000 votes. The tally shows all seven Republican congressmen elected, with final results pending further counts inCalifornia and Jamaica.
Massachusetts returns partial results showing Crane leading for governor with 219,829 votes, Paynin at 121,158, and Mikley 229,495. Republicans win ten of eleven congressional districts, with little change to the existing delegation as votes trickle in from several towns.
Illé, Ky November 7. At 11 o'clock the victim was made at republican head quarters here that the state was safely repican by from 7 000 to 10 000. No return had been received since early this morning by either democratic and republican headquarters.
Reports from 210 cities and towns indicate Maine's election turnout was light with a reduced Republican plurality and a notable gain for the Democratic column as midnight returns came in.

The entire GOP ticket appears elected by a record plurality, signaling strong momentum for McKinley and anticipated Senate successor Pettigrew.
Reno Nev a's Still The Silver Fake leads in Nevada as returns come in. His expected majority grows beyond last night with total margins nearing 1 560 votes. Democrat Newlands for congress is poised to win the state by about 2 000.
Democrats concede Republican electors and Congressman Jones win. They claim Governor Rogers is re-elected and Ronald secures a congressional seat. State totals incomplete due to ongoing returns. Meanwhile Pope Leo’s Vatican garden guards are increased after King Humbert’s death, with daily checks by armed guards.
Indianapolis reports that Indiana may give McKinley a 28 000 to 32 009 vote lead. Republicans will likely elect eleven of thirteen congressmen. The state legislature is safely Republican.
The latest returns from Sioux Falls indicate the Republican lead is strengthening as ballots are counted. Early results show the Republican candidate maintaining a solid position with unofficial tallies reflecting a favorable margin.
Special dispatch from White Sulphur Springs Montana reports that early counts indicate the Republican slate leads in the county and a solid majority for Republican candidates on the state ticket. Full returns may take a day or two.
Special to the Inter Mountain reports Yellowstone county precincts show McKinley 792 Bryan 620 Folsom 751 Toole 622 Murray 715 Edwards 560. Stull defeats Losekamp by at least 75 votes, with a 102 vote majority as one Democratic precinct awaits results. All Republican county candidates win except Linton, deferred by fusion candidate Hubbard. County swings back to Republicans amid high enthusiasm.
