Senator Nathaniel P Hill Dies at 68 in Denver

Senator Nathaniel P. Hill former United States senator from Colorado died at noon after a long illness. He was 68 and had led Denver and Colorado financial and social life for nearly eight years. Hill owned the Argo smelter now the Boston Colorado Smelting Co interests in oil fields at Florence and the Denver Republican, with holdings in Colorado and Montana. He refused wage cuts at the Argo after the 1893 panic and backed free coinage of silver and a postal telegraph system. He taught chemistry at Brown University before turning to mining ventures.
