Highwayman Robs Mail Wagon on Early Morning Route
A masked bandit stopped a U.S. mail wagon at First and Wyoming, forcing driver Frank Godbout and clerk G A Rivers to surrender the registered pouch from Ogden. The robber fled toward Second Street. Godbout later aided by Officer Nichol, with investigators unsure of the thief’s identity. Postmaster Irvin expects the Ogden billing to reveal the loot’s value, likely modest. Godbout was briefly detained then released for police surveillance.
