Smallpox Bills Left Unpaid In Livingston Session
Livingston Montana March 20 1901 county commissioners met in special session to review a long list of smallpox bills. County attorney Miller was absent delaying action. Van Dyck resigned due to travel demands and Albert Trager will fill the term. The meeting also discussed road work near the stock yards and changes to the road to avoid Reuben Smith’s farm. A local tragedy drew heavy notice as a young hotel worker Mayde Maythorn feared by many left the world after an act of despair. Funeral plans for Hedrix and other local notices followed. The day closed with health and bridge project updates and a Bozeman weed wheat car arrival.
