Veteran Civil War figure dies at Waldorf Astoria

New York March 2– A veteran of the Civil War, Teane T. Tally, aged 69, was found dead in his Waldorf Astoria room yesterday. Death due to apoplexy. Tally, a Maine native, moved to New York after leaving his state, aligned with the Republican party, served on a penal commission, and was briefly chairman of the Commission of Forthrant corrections. He later led the Fire and Leather Reporter as publisher.
