Wheaton’s Brigade Captures Pasig City This Afternoon

Manila report: General Wheaton captures Pasig with American losses six wounded. American gunboats shell rebel positions. 20th Regiment moves to ridge as rebels retreat toward Pateros. About 700 rebels march northward. 30 killed and 16 captured.

Advance of American Troops Capture Pasig in Philippines

Manila March 12 Brigadier General Lloyd Wheaton's forces including the 20th and 22nd Infantry Oregon and Washington volunteers and Fourth Cavalry moved along a ridge south of San Pedro Macati. After heavy artillery and riverine support the American line drove rebels from Guadalupe and Pasig capturing Pasig city by 4:00 p m with minimal American casualties though Filipino losses were heavy.
