Bland Dies After Long Illness Kentuckian Turned Missouri Statesman
Richard Parks Bland, born in Kentucky in 1835, long served Missouri in Congress. He died at 4 30 a m in Lebanon after a 42 hour sleep following a decline from grippe, with services planned by the Masonic order. He spent his career in Rolla, Lebanon and the Eighth district, first in 1873 to 1846 then re elected to the Fifty fifth Congress ending May 4.
