Lynching Near Columbus After Break-In

In Columbus Georgia this morning Simon Adams, a about 20 year old Black man, was lynched just outside the city limits at 9 o clock. He entered the room of two daughters of E. H. Almont ten miles above the city. Their screams awakened their father who was sleeping downstairs and after a search Adams was found.

Violent Lynching Reported Near Columbus

A Black man was captured by a mob in a girls’ room incident and taken toward Columbus where authorities were to take over. The mob hanged him to a tree, shot him with bullets, and his body was hidden and presumed thrown into the river.

Admiral Dewey Visits Lake Ship Parade on Tashmoo

The lakeside crowd cheered as Admiral Dewey and Mrs. Dewey were escorted to the Tashmoo by police. Mexican Robbers Fire Upon Flight of Fugitives

Reports say four Mexican robbers, blamed for killing Anton Oleen and John Stuart and raiding a New River store, are near capture. They previously robbed W H Rice of gold dust in Yavapai, held up a Globe gambling venue, and stole from two prospectors near Jerome and from cattlemen south of Prescott. They crossed the Arizona Canal north of Phoenix and were repelled at Thoroldsen ranch where the owner's wife fired five shots, killing a horse and wounding a robber.

Boiler Explosion at Sawmill Kills Three near Fifelake

A boiler at Charles F. Reds sawmill five miles west of Fifelake exploded during start of work. Engineer departed, A J Cole replaced him and was blown to pieces. Three men died, ten injured, mill heavily wrecked. M B Smith also perished from injuries. another unidentified worker died soon after.

Murderer Located After Bloody East Pelleiana Chase

New Orleans dispatch reports a large posse pursuing Noah Pritehard, described as a Negro murderer of Ralph Mayjer. Pritehard was tracked across East Feliciana, firing on pursuers and fatally wounding Fred Villers, a white man, while also injuring others and the West Feliciana sheriff.
