Smoke House Mine progress signals rich copper target
Smoke House mine work at Pole Creek reports sinking through a north ledge with two feet exposed. Quartz shows silver and gold with copper staining. Indications favor a large mineral body, though paydirt copper may require deeper work, as 500 feet depth hoped. Work to continue vigorously despite manager issues.

Pole Creek Placers Work Suspended By Inexperienced Manager
A. W. Tanner of Red Bluff reports Pole Creek placers near Red Bluff halted temporarily not due to mine faults but because Bernard Ryan from Toronto failed in management. The deal cost about 80000 dollars with 200 inches of water and a 260 foot fall. Turner says sinking to 200 foot level will resume with a concentrator due in three months and ore bodies averaging 12 to 24 feet. About 30000 dollars worth of ore has been extracted and is on the dump ready for milling.
