Future of copper profits and price outlook in 1917
The Boston News Bureau notes small visible copper stocks and strong metal prices at 17 1 2c, with some higher quality stocks slow to respond. Producers report handsome profits with current selling prices. With contracts for future delivery, most producers may average only 15 16c in H1, but 16c implies large margins. A 17c to 18c second-half average could yield about a Vie yearly price. Montana could pay $40 per share and add over $1,009,000 to surplus, already above $5,000,000.
