Big Street Car Strike Over Brooklyn Amid Explosions

In New York and Brooklyn a major street car strike escalated as dynamite exploded under elevated tracks at Fifth Avenue and Thirty-fifth Street. Strikers Arrested in Brooklyn Explosion Probe

In New York on July 19 about 22 strikers were arrested on suspicion of complicity in the South Brooklyn dynamite explosion on the elevated road. Acting on Chief Devery’s orders nine detectives seized leaders at Rockaway and Atlantic avenues in Brooklyn. A hearing before Justice Bristow is expected at 9 o’clock.

The Journal and Advertiser reports a planned strike by nine workers on the Madison Morning division of the Metropolitan street railway.
