The residence of Joseph McCaffery senior at 605 Cherry Street was burglarized last evening between 7 30 and 3 30 while the family were at church or visiting friends. Entry likely through a rear door with a skeleton key. cupboards and bureaus were rifled and silverware left on the floor. The intruders fled after finding no money.
Arrangements for laying the foundation walls of the Washoe smelters have been made for today with W A Brien of Butte as sub-contractor. A large workforce is being assembled, now numbering between 400 and 400 men, as work progresses on the site.
