Chicago July 11. After 11 hours the Atlantic Auxiliary association's team won the Brooklyn trophy at the ninth annual congress of the American Whist league. They took 4 wins to 3 for Northwest with Chicago New England and New York each scoring one win. High scores were tallied by Cleveland delegates W F Talcott and J H Snow 158 tricks and Chicago delegates F J Tobin and George P Welles 180 tricks. Other events included Hamilton trophy preliminaries Minneapolis trophy and progressive pairs for the league trophy.
