Livestock Counts Decline in 1899 Farm Totals

January 14 1899 livestock returns show 13 665 307 horses 23 1 mules 14 590 115 milch cows 27 904 sea and other cattle 20 114 453 sheep and 58 561 817 swine with declines in horses mules oxen and other cattle and wine while milch cows and sheep rise. The average farm value for all stock is higher than in January 1898.
