There will be a meeting of the stock holders of the Flint Creek Mining Company at its office 5 and 6 Owsley block Butte Montana on Friday January 19 1900 at 830 pm for electing directors and such other matters as may legally come before the meeting.
Dick Middleton alias Kenneth Haviland walked from the county jail after a judge discharged him for lack of evidence in a burglary case involving 10,000 cigars valued at about 650 dollars. Witness Ledford offered few incriminating details as Middleton vanished, then was returned from St Paul and later released after prosecutors dropped the charge.
Trading in the copper shares shows little bull support with several issues not trading and bid prices firm above yesterday's close. Butte & Boston offered 48 but holders refuse under 50. Parrott near 41, closed slightly lower. Utah Con up to 28 percent with modest gains amid mixed closes.
E W Beattie Jr attorney of this city and Ethel Dickenson daughter of Springfield Mass mayor were united in marriage in Springfield early this month. They will make Butte their home. Superintendent Campbell of Fort Shaw Indian School was shot by Rev. F W Pool while both hunted prairie chickens a mile from the school. A steer charged Campbell, Pool fired, and the load split between man and beast. Campbell likely not seriously wounded. Also reports Rob erts shot near Reed s Point after his acquittal in Sweet Grass. no arrests.
