The quiet week featured sleighing and skating parties, with the Wells Black wedding standing out as the week's premier society event. Albert Gaylord Black, Chicago native and Daly Bank teller, married Miss Gertie Wells in a mostly intimate ceremony at the couple’s home, followed by a festive reception and informal dance. The bride wore white crepe de chine with white panne velvet, and guests included many longtime Butte families. guests scattered rice and ribbons, and gifts ranged from china to lamps. The newlyweds planned a trip to Boulder and Paris, with return in February to settle into their Lenox hotel apartment.

City social notes recount a muted arching ball event

The report describes a past inauguration ball with low attendance by society leaders. President Scalion of Amalgamated hosted a private car party with guests including D. J. Hennessy and A. Shores, with pleasant travel, banquets, and a general good time. Ex-Governor Richards joined for the trip home. Other local attendees and a Women’s Relief corps event are noted, including installing officers for Lincoln post No 2 AL. The piece ends with post-event camaraderie and gal time.
