Pastor Weistekan Buried at Sea Near December Death

The family of Rev. W. W. Weistekan of St. James Lutheran Church, Philadelphia, received word that he died at sea on December 15 and was buried in the ocean. He had traveled abroad in September with his eldest daughter Louise at the request of the German Lutheran church foreign missions.

Fire destroys Jarvis Arms plant in Pittsburg

An extensive fire in Pittsburg on January for the Jarvis Arms company nearly wiped out the plant, destroying numerous patterns and moulds. Estimated loss is $100,000, insured. The blaze was caused by a defective electric wiring connection.

Pension Plan for Chicago and Northwestern Employees

The Chicago and Northwestern Ry begins a pension system for retiring workers on January 1.
