Ex United States Senator Stephen M. White died at his Los Angeles home at four this morning after a stomach ulceration. He had retired from the Senate months ago and had been attending to legal business. Born January 9 1854 in San Francisco he rose from farmer’s upbringing to become Los Angeles district attorney state senator and national Democratic convention chairman.
